So this is my scarf. I spun the yarn on a handspindle from a Border-Leicester and hand-dyed mohair roving, then Andean plied it. The final measurments are about 22 wpi. I finished the yarn with a hot water bath and shampoo, then let it dry unweighted. I wound the yarn into balls by hand and knit them on size 6 needles in the feather and fan lace pattern. (*k2tog 3 times, yo knit 6 times, k2tog 3 times, repeat from *) I worked on 38 st, but you could add pattern repeats if working in very fine yarn.

This scarf was modeled on "misty garden" by Jo Sharp in Pam Allen's Scarf Style, but uses my yarn at a smaller gauge. I didn't make a swatch because I didn't care how big it would be, so use your best judgement if using another yarn.

I worked on this during the crazy month of July, during my class and all the travelling and my Grandmother's funeral. It's become really important to me as a symbol and I feel proud of my achievement.
